This year, I've dedicated myself to running the 2017 Chicago Marathon in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Brave hearts at the Great Strides walk for Cystic Fibrosis - May 21, 2017

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:

  • clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and

  • obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure. Real progress has been made, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease, but together, we can help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis.

Help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my campaign. Your gift will help support lifesaving research, medical and education programs for cystic fibrosis.
